Helping Students Become Confident, Lifelong Learners

We don't just teach students what to learn—we teach them how to think. Through personalized instruction, critical thinking, metacognition, and executive function coaching, students develop the skills, confidence, and habits needed to succeed in school and beyond.
Meet Your Tutor
I’m Nick Lucido, founder of Lucid Learning Prep. Over the past eight years, I’ve worked with several of the nation’s leading tutoring organizations in online, in-home, classroom, and one-on-one settings.
Through those experiences, I saw what truly helps students grow—and what often limits their progress. Lucid Learning Prep was created to preserve what works, eliminate what doesn’t, and give students a personalized learning experience centered around clarity, structure, measurable progress, and independent learning.
Our Educational Philosophy
Education is about far more than grades or test scores. When students understand how ideas fit together, they gain a sense of clarity that changes how they show up in school and in life. My goal is to help students learn how to think, not simply what to memorize, so they can approach new challenges with confidence instead of anxiety.
True confidence comes from understanding. That’s why every session at Lucid Learning Prep weaves together content mastery with executive function skills—planning, organization, time management, and self-reflection. When students learn to manage their work, reflect on their thinking, and stay curious, they build habits that last long after a single class or exam.
The Principles That Guide Every Session
1

Ownership
Students make the greatest progress when they take ownership of their learning.
02

Growth Mindset
Challenges and mistakes are treated as opportunities for growth.
03

Metacognition
Students learn to reflect on their thinking, notice what works, and adjust their strategies.
04

Critical Thinking
Students learn to analyze information, evaluate evidence, recognize bias, and solve unfamiliar problems.
05

Lifelong Learning
Education should cultivate curiosity and a love of learning that extends well beyond school.
Built from Experience
Before founding Lucid Learning Prep, I worked with several of the nation’s leading tutoring organizations supporting students in SAT, ACT, academic subjects, and executive function coaching.
Those years taught me what consistently helps students improve, where large tutoring companies often fall short, and why personalization matters. Lucid Learning Prep combines the strengths of established tutoring programs with the individualized attention of an independent educator—so students get structure, expertise, and a learning experience that actually fits who they are.

Beyond Tutoring
Learning has always been one of the greatest joys in my life. Outside of sessions, you’ll often find me hiking, playing or listening to music, reading about biology and psychology, or exploring new ideas in education and lifelong learning.
I continually study how people learn and refine my teaching methods because I believe the best educators are lifelong learners themselves. The more I learn, the better I can help students build the skills and confidence they need to thrive.
